The 2008 NSW Pearcey Young Achiever's Award were presented to two young entrepreneurs Mike Cannon-Brookes and Scott Farquhar, co-CEO's of Atlassian Software Systems by the NSW Minister for Education & Training, the Hon. John Della Bosca. The presentation occurred on the 11th of September 2008 as part of the 2008 National Pearcey Event in Sydney at the Westin Hotel.
To ensure there was a record of the views of the ICT industry on the Innovation Review Green Paper published in early September 2008, the Pearcey Foundation asked well known industry journalist and free-lance writer Graeme Philipson to record his impressions of what was said and discussed during the proceedings of the 2008 Pearcey Medal event. The NSW Committee of the Pearcey Foundation are very appreciative of Graeme's willingness to freely give of his time and resources to make a permanent record of this most significant industry gathering.
The Pearcey Foundation's National Roundtable was themed "Innovation - The Role of ICT" and linked to the National Innovation Review. The event consisted of a series of discussions featuring ICT industry leaders and commentators, followed by dinner in the Heritage Ballroom at the Westin Hotel. 200 industry leaders are expected to attend.
