2002 SA Award
The inaugural 2002 SA Pearcey Award was presented to Dr. Jonathan Baxter.
Jonathan co-founded Panscient Technologies in February 2002. He previously served as Director of Product Architecture at information extraction forerunner WhizBang! Labs and account manager and technical director for WhizBang's largest corporate client, Dun & Bradstreet. Prior to working at WhizBang, Jonathan served as a research professor at the Australian National University.
Jonathan has a B.Sc in Mathematical Physics and Computer Science with first class honours from Adelaide University and a PhD in Mathematics from the Flinders University of South Australia. Jonathan has over 50 academic publications in computer science, and is a current member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Machine Learning Research and the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research.
Jonathan has received several national and one international award for his achievements in computer science.
